Prof. Yalçıner is teaching Civil Engineering at METU since1978. His field of expertise is far field propagation of tsunamis in closed seas, sea outfall designs, detailed knowledge of mathematical modelling on wave tsunamis, wave hindcasting , current and sediment transport, model studies on breakwater stability, harbor agitation, experimental study on the transformation of solitary waves, field measurements on current and hydrodynamic parameters.
